Tow Line, The movie

It wouldn't let me post the movie but in the end Todd got the girl! Jen is an assistant coach for the Tennessee Women Swimmers.

More training and the tow line

Coach Mark worked with Todd on kicking, pull outs, and then on the 3rd practice, he introduced the "tow line". You put the harness on which connects to the line and it tows you down the pool. It can be set to a desired time for 50 meters. It allows you feel the speed of a certain time and to find areas of resistance in your stroke. Todd was a natural at this and they kept speeding him up and he did a great job swimming at higher speeds. After the first time in which he held a stream line the entire length, Todd proclaimed Firestone needed one of these!

Check the pictures and I'll try to post a short video of it.

More on Colorado Springs

What a great facility! The pool and the pool area were so clean and nice. It was just cool to be in there. Many of the athletes were training for national championship competition to qualify for the Olympic team that goes to Beijing.
Todd was rather quiet at first, he said he was a little nervous. After he got in the pool and worked with Coach Mark, he was really at home there. After a warm-up the first day, they used underwater cameras, from different angles to watch videos of his strokes. They watched the videos and decided what adjustments Todd needed to make in his strokes. Coach Mark was able to get Todd to improve his flutter kick very quickly. More to come!

An amazing opportunity

Todd was invited by our friend and coach Mark Schubert to come to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for some stroke analysis and coaching over the Memorial Day weekend. It was a wonderful experience. All of the people we met were so supportive and helpful that Todd had a great time. We took a few pictures at the entrance to inspire readers.
